be gone, summer, we're ready for fall!

the kids have halloween costumes, and the candy fest hasn't even started yet, but they're crazy like their bodies are full of sugar. i shudder at the thought of what the week before the 31st might look like. is there any way to avoid this madness?

my princess wanted to be hannah montana this year. i just couldn't do it! i told her that a princess is just as beautiful, but she didn't buy it for the longest time. i finally just said i didn't think it was an appropriate costume...for the weather. for some reason, being warm meant more to her than being hannah montana. thank goodness for small favors.

caden will be an heroic firefighter, all warm and toasty in his uniform. no arguments here.
